World Radiography Day 2007

Poole Hospital, Dorset

Celebrations got off to a good start with a special visit to the x-ray department from Sue Sutherland, CEO of the Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Sue toured the main department and chatted with staff about developments in the radiography profession, helping to raise the profile of radiographers within the hospital.

Radiology staff at Southmead Hospital organised a competition for hospital staff, patients and visitors. Various everyday objects were x-rayed and entrants guessed what they were. The winner received a coffee machine donated by Siemens Medical Solutions. Radiology staff also produced a display promoting the work of radiographers and staff.

The Indian Society of Radiographers & Technologists

In 2007 the Indian Society of Radiographers and Technologists held a number of events to mark World Radiography Day, supported by the Directorate of Radiation Safety (DRS) of Kerala State.

These activities included three regional CPD days, an exhibition and a radiation awareness survey. This year, the organisation is planning several programmes to promote World Radiography Day. This will include displaying posters, stickers and banners in every hospital with a radiology department. They will also be assisting various hospitals conducting CPD Programmes. We look forward to hearing all about it!
