How long have you been a radiographer?

2 years.

Where did you train?

I trained at Federal school of Radiography, Yaba, Lagos State, Nigeria.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy seeing that patients are helped by being investigated in the radiology department.

What is the most challenging/difficult part of your job and why?

The most challenging part of the job is the load of work; I attend to an average of 40-50 patients daily.

How many patients do you help each week approximately?

Personally I attend to an average of 200-250 weekly.

What is the most memorable or happiest moment of your radiography career and why?

The day I was invited by surgeons to be part of the team as a theatre radiographer to operate a patient in the theatre suite.

If you could change or improve one thing about your working life, what would it be?

I would like to advance in the field of radiography so that I can be more efficient and can in turn help others coming up in the field of radiography.

Have you ever worked as a radiographer outside your home country? If not, have you considered it?

No, I have not worked outside the country my country but I have strongly considered working in Europe and some African countries.

What advice would you give to someone thinking about becoming a radiographer?

Radiography is the eye of medicine and in my opinion the most fulfilling profession in the world. Radiography is an important part of the Medical team.

How do you see the role of the radiographer/technologist developing in the future?

There is need for role extension for Radiographers as Medical practice will definitely not be able to proceed in researches without inputs from Radiographers. I propose role extension such as film interpretations etc.
